The ‘Scout’s Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse’ actor has died at the age of 28 and his former co-stars are quick to send tributes and condolences following his passing.

AceShowbizJoey Morgan, best known for his role in the 2015 horror comedy “Scout’s Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse“, has died aged 28.

The film’s director Christopher Landon took to Twitter on Sunday (21Nov21) to share the sad news.

“Joey Morgan came into my life nearly 9 years ago when I made Scouts. He was quiet, funny, intelligent and thoughtful. And when the cameras rolled he was magnetic. He passed today and the news is heartbreaking. I am honored to have known him,” he tweeted, along with a broken heart emoji.

The movie co-starred Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, Halston Sage, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

One fan of the teen horror film wrote, “Terrible news. His performance in Scouts was absolutely brilliant and comedy gold. That Britney scene with the zombie was hilarious! R.I.P Joey,” while another tweeted, “He was extremely funny in scouts and he will never be forgotten.”

A third fan penned, “I love this film and Joey was amazing in it, such a massive loss.”

Representatives for the actor confirmed the news to JustJared.com, with the statement, “Please respect our privacy so we can grieve the loss of a very special person to us.”

Joey’s other credits include the 2017 film “Flower with Zoey Deutch” and the 2018 film “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser” with Shannon Purser.

Former co-star Zoey Deutch was quick to honor the late actor with a heartfelt post, “Rest in peace Joey. A deeply kind, talented, special person. We love you.”

Patrick Schwarzenegger expressed his shock after learning of his co-star’s passing. “What?!? No. Such a hilarious bright star when I worked with him. Wow. This is awful.”
