Adam Thomas enjoys family outing after admitting he wanted to ‘experience Strictly curse’

Ryan Thomson was all smiles as he enjoyed a carefree outing in Manchester City centre with his family, amid reports that he has joined the new line-up of Strictly Come Dancing.

The doting dad, 34, donned a green cap and matching jumper as he ventured out with his wife, Caroline Daly, and their two children, Elsie-Rose, aged five, and son Teddy, aged eight.

Adam jokingly expressed his openness to experiencing the notorious "Strictly curse," a theory that suggests participants in the show often end up splitting up with their partners.

Speaking previously about rumours he'll join the popular dancing show, he playfully said, "Bring it all on. I love a bit of glitz and glam. I just want to experience the Strictly curse."

The Sun reported that Adam, best known for his role as Adam Barton on ITV's Emmerdale, will bring his "huge fanbase" to the show.

A TV insider told the publication: "After two decades on screen and as one of the Thomas brothers, he instantly brings a huge fanbase. That's what Strictly bosses love.

"Producers also see him as someone who can fill the young hunk role, which is important and often sees them pick soap stars."

Adam achieved third place on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, and he recently made his return as Donte in a reboot of the BBC One series, Waterloo Road, having played the character previously as a youngster.

He's part of a famous trio of siblings, with his twin brother Scott Thomas having been a star on Love Island, and his older brother Ryan Thomas, 39, known for his long-running role as Jason on Coronation Street.

Even Adam's son Teddy has had a taste of stardom, playing Adam's on-screen son in Waterloo Road, while his brother Ryan Thomas' daughter, Scarlett, portrays Adam's daughter in the series.

The star spoke about the uncertainty of finding regular work in the acting world and admitted that being recast in Waterloo Road has allowed him to feel like he can "breathe" again.

Recently he delighted Emmerdale fans by teasing a potential return to the show during an interview on Lorraine.

He told the Scots presenter: "You genuinely do become such a huge family, and yeah, I miss them all so much. So look, never say never. I would love to go back one day."
