Lord Alan Sugar, 74, showed off his new exercise regime on Twitter today, as he posed with a bicycle while in Sydney, Australia. The Apprentice star has admitted piling on 6kg in two weeks, while being placed in mandatory quarantine to enter the country.

Lord Sugar shared a photo of himself in cycling gear as he prepared to break a sweat in Centennial Park.

He typed in view of his 5.2 million followers: “50k ride 3 times a week in Centennial Park Sydney to burn off the 6kg I put on in the 14-day quarantine.

“The shame is I could not rent a @Pinarello_com @Pinarello_UK,” he added.

The Apprentice star proceeded to shut down one Twitter user who referenced his weight gain by jokingly asking if he could be pregnant.

@SaintJordan5 commented: “When’s it due?”

The businessman fired back: “My water just broke.”

@JulesnJay commented: “Well done you, I couldn’t do it. Think a lot of people have piled on the pounds, good to see you are doing something about it… My get up and go has gone.”

While @MattyWhitty remarked: “Good to see you back in Australia @Lord_Sugar. I provided the bike for you, I’m glad to see you enjoying it and it’s getting plenty of use!”

@IanWyatt added: “Still looks like a nice bike. Were you not allowed to take your own bike in?”

The star recently came under fire for being allowed into Australia while many Australians are still stranded abroad.

However, he appeared relaxed as he hit the streets of Sydney’s Eastern suburbs over the weekend after completing 14 days of mandatory hotel quarantine.

He was joined by wife Ann Simons as they grabbed a coffee to go.

The business mogul went casual for the outing, pairing black trousers with a royal blue long-sleeved shirt.

He carried a face mask with him while he strolled, putting it on to order his coffees.

His wife of 53 years wore head-to-toe black for the low-key outing.

The TV personality recently came under fire after jetting from the UK to Australia during the pandemic to film the sixth series of Celebrity Apprentice.

Lord Sugar revealed he was quarantining on the 21st floor of The Sheraton in Sydney for two weeks after arriving Down Under.

“Nice view from the 21st floor,” he wrote in a now-deleted tweet, alongside an accompanying video of his view.

Australian borders are currently closed to those who are not Australian citizens, permanent residents or immediate family members.

However, there are caps on the number of passengers coming into Australia from overseas to ease pressure on quarantine facilities, which has meant some citizens have been stranded.

Like with other reality shows filmed Down Under, Lord Sugar is on a special visa – meaning he isn’t taking a hotel quarantine spot from an Australian.
