The One Show presenter, Alex Jones, 44, has revealed that she cried over a heartbreaking letter from a fan, who wrote to congratulate the star on her pregnancy news. As well as the letter, which thanked the star for keeping everyone going with the show, the generous fan also sent the expectant mother a special gift for her unborn child.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the Welsh native admitted to her 293,000 followers that the letter from the fan left her in tears.

Alongside a photo of her blossoming baby bump, Alex posted a picture of a card she received behind-the-scenes of the BBC show.

She captioned the picture: “Thank you so much Pauline! Your card made me cry happy tears.

“Means so much to hear from viewers and I love the elf hat xx.”

The presenter took a snap of the card in the mirror, which detailed why the fan had got in touch with the presenter.

The sweet note started off by congratulating the host on her happy news.

It read: “Dear Alex, so thrilled for you with the news you’re expecting a girl!

“Have enclosed something for later on, hope you/ she liked.”

The fan went on to heartbreakingly reveal that the BBC show has “kept her going” following the death of her husband a year ago.

The note continued: “Thank you also for keeping us going each night on The One Show.

“I lost my husband suddenly at the end of last May.

“Your cheery face has kept me going – Thank you.”

The author of the note revealed that her late husband and the BBC presenter shared one striking similarity – the same birthday.

“You share the same birthday as him 18th March so you know he was a good soul,” the card read.

“Hope you keep well and fit and your confinement goes well.”

The card signed off with the author wishing Alex well: “Keep safe, with love.”

Days ago, the BBC host took to social media to share a special moment of her pregnancy with fans.

Sharing a snap of her baby girl during a sonogram scan, the star revealed that the experience was “magical” even the “third time” round.

Weeks ago, Alex revealed that she is pregnant with her third child live on The One Show.

She already has sons Teddy and Kit with husband Charlie Thomson.
