Anton Du Beke, 55, is a father to his twins Henrietta and George, four, who he shares with his wife Hannah Summers. The Strictly Come Dancing judge revealed his children had been left confused after seeing him on-screen.

The BBC favourite explained that the moment happened a couple of years ago.

In a candid interview, the Strictly judge admitted that his little ones are no longer in shock when they see their dad on TV.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Anton revealed: “A plumber came around and George, who’s four-and-a-half, said, ‘My Daddy is on Strictly Come Dancing.’

“And I went, ‘Yes!’ It’s so gorgeous, isn’t it?”

He continued: “Once upon a time, a couple of years ago, I would go on television and dance and they’d burst into tears.

“They couldn’t quite understand what I was doing there and couldn’t quite get it.”

“But now they love it and get all excited,” he added.

Anton has replaced regular judge Bruno Tonioli for the current series of Strictly.

Bruno is currently on the judging panel of the US equivalent, Dancing With The Stars.

He decided not to appear on the UK series this year and travel between the countries as he has in previous years due to pandemic travel restrictions.

Meanwhile, in a recent appearance on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch, Anton admitted he is missing his former role and that the Strictly dancefloor is a “wonderful environment”.

He told host Steph McGovern: “I miss being part of the group as it’s the most wonderful environment to be in with all these fabulous dancers and people.

Elsewhere, during Saturday night’s episode of Strictly, viewers were left blushing after Anton made a saucy innuendo to Adam Peaty.

The Olympic swimmer danced a jive with his professional partner Katya Jones.

After the high energy routine was over, the judges gave their feedback, and Anton couldn’t help but make a cheeky joke.

He told Adam: “When you got going it was terrific, marvellous energy. You were up on your balls beautifully”.

Twitter user, Tammy wrote: “‘Up on your balls.’ Ooooooh you filthy beast.”

Scott added: “Only a few mins in and Anton’s complimenting Adam’s balls. Love this show!”

Meanwhile, Adam bid farewell on Strictly after the Olympic champion was voted off the BBC show.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 6.45pm.
