Carl Woods insists he and Katie Price aren't getting married in Las Vegas

Carl Woods has insisted that he and his fiancee Katie Price are not getting married in Las Vegas – despite the pair picking up a marriage licence and checking out a chapel.

The couple, who got engaged in April after being set up by a mutual friend in lockdown last year, jetted off to Sin City together last week, which Carl describes as his ‘second home’.

After speculation about the pair tying the knot, he posted on Instagram: ‘I can confirm that @KatiePrice and I are not getting married in Vegas and never was [sic].

‘However, a $102 (£75) marriage license caused pure carnage and got the media all excited and s**t.’

Carl also appeared to reference Katie’s Las Vegas wedding to Alex Reid in 2010, adding in a following post: ‘I mean, I have always said I wouldn’t do anything similar or the same to what’s been done before.’

Katie, 43, and Carl, 32, were spotted picking up a wedding licence on Wednesday morning, in a 15-minute appointment at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau.

The couple were seen raising their right hands at the booth as the clerk processed their papers, with an insider telling The Sun that Katie was reportedly overheard joking: ‘Ooh, signing our life away.’

The official forms suggested that Katie was planning to change her surname to Woods.

On Monday, Katie fuelled the rumours by sharing a picture on her Instagram Stories of the wooden door to the Romano Chapel in Vegas.

She then shared a snippet of footage from inside the room, which showed rows of chairs laid out and facing a stand at the front of the beige, cream and gold chapel.

She captioned it: ‘Done and dusted with all this’, adding an emoji with a sticking-out tongue.

She then shared a quick glimpse of the inside of a glamorous monochrome and silver beauty salon, writing ‘Hair amazing’.

During their US holiday, Katie and Carl also took time to enjoy the tourist sites of the area, including a day trip from Nevada to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon.

A source told MailOnline that Carl had arranged the entire trip to lift Katie’s spirits after a difficult year.

They revealed: ‘Carl has been working in secret to make this trip happen for himself and Katie…

‘From the beginning of their relationship they’ve wanted to get married and now is the perfect time for them to make it official.

‘Katie has done the big white wedding before and while this is Carl’s first marriage, he wants their day together to be exactly what she’s dreamed of, while he also sees the States as his second home.’

Katie has previously been married to Peter Andre from 2005 to 2009, with whom she shares 16-year-old son Junior and 14-year-old daughter Princess, and to Alex Reid, who she wed in Vegas, from 2010 to 2012.

Katie then tied the knot with Kieran Hayler in the Bahamas in 2013, before beginning divorce proceedings in May 2014, and then reconciling and renewing their wedding vows in February 2015 in West Sussex, and again in July 2017 in the Maldives, and for a third time in Barbados in October 2017.

The former couple, who share eight-year-old son Jett and daughter Bunny, seven, finally called it quits in May 2018.

The entrepreneur has also been engaged a total of eight times, after accepting a ring from Gladiators’ Warren Furman in 1997, businessman Scott Sullivan in 2000, Leandro Penna in 2012 and Kris Boyson in 2019.

Katie also has oldest son Harvey, 19, from a previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.

Katie recently hit out at previous husbands Peter and Kieran after reportedly receiving legal letters from them while in Las Vegas preparing to marry her fiancé.

A friend told the MailOnline: ‘Kieran and Peter are livid Katie hasn’t taken the children’s feelings into consideration and has gone completely behind everybody’s back.

‘Pete has already sent legal letters today. Kieran feels she is putting Carl first and is a very selfish mother and has done this because all she cares about is her relationship with him.’

Katie had written on her Instagram Story to ‘clear a few things up’: ‘Firstly I’d like to make it clear that Peter and Kieran have contributed to the state of my mental health.

‘I’m asking you both kindly to leave me alone now and stop making money from my name.’

However, Peter then appeared to distance himself from the saga on Instagram by sharing a cryptic Story.

With no elaboration, the 48-year-old posted: ‘I don’t do stories. it’s not my bag. I never get involved.

‘Just thought I’d let anyone interested know. Nice try though.’

The couple are reportedly also planning on getting matching tattoos to mark their memorable trip to Vegas, with a source telling The Mirror: ‘They want it to be a romantic gesture to display their love for one another.’

The trip comes during a difficult few months for Katie, after she pleaded guilty to drink-driving following a single-car collision in September.

The mother-of-five’s sentencing was deferred until December so she could access treatment at rehab facility The Priory.
