Cast & Synopsis For Dune: Part Two Revealed As Movie Begins Production

Production on Dune: Part Two is now underway!

The upcoming sequel is starting filming and will be on location in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and Italy, according to Variety.

As we already knew from before, Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya will be returning, with her role being much bigger than in the first film.

Here’s a synopsis: “This follow-up film will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides (Chalamet) as he unites with Chan (Zendaya) and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

Also set to return for the sequel are director Denis Villaneuve, as well as cast members Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck), Stellan Skarsgård (Baron Vladimir Harkonnen), Dave Bautista (Glossu Rabban Harkonnen), Charlotte Rampling (Reverend Mother Mohiam) and Stephen McKinley Henderson (Thufir Hawat).

Jason Momoa (Duncan Idaho), Oscar Isaac (Duke Leto Atreides), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dr. Liet Kynes) and Babs Olusanmokun (Jamis) are not returning for the sequel.

Florence Pugh will be playing Princess Irulan.

Christopher Walken is joining as Irulan’s father, Emperor Shaddam IV.

Lea Seydoux is set to play Lady Margot, the wife of Mentat Count Hasimir Fenring.

Souheila Yacoub joins the cast in an unknown role.

Dune: Part Two is already set to be released on November 17, 2023.
