Charli & Dixie D’Amelio’s Bahamas Trip Has Fans Seeing Red

With COVID-19 case numbers exploding across the country and the pandemic still very much underway, the CDC is recommending that people postpone travel plans, but the recommendations don’t seem to apply to everyone. A Twitter user posted pictures of a group of influencers seemingly partying and taking pics with fans at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, writing “*COVID VACATION ALERT* Charli D’Amelio, Dixie D’Amelio, Noah Beck, and Chase Hudson exposed by fans for flying to the Bahamas mid-pandemic — they took this pic outside their resort. Madi Monroe and Bryant from the Hype House also went to Bahamas on a private jet.”

There was some pretty quick backlash on Twitter, like this user, who wrote, “It doesnt matter that they tested negative or are wearing masks. What matters is that they are still promoting traveling during a global pandemic which is NOT ok. Shoving their luxurious trips in our faces just makes everyone who cant leave their houses feel bad.” Another user wrote, “THEY THINK THAT JUST BC THEY’RE RICH AND FAMOUS, THEY’RE IMMUNE TO THE VIRUS. it’s so unfair bc people all over the world are struggling with the virus and they’re so ignorant for going. they might be rich enough to get good treatment but they’re putting others lives in danger.”

It's not the first time the influencers' COVID choices have made news

One Twitter user did raise the point that at least it was good that the TikTok and YouTube stars weren’t publicly posting about it even though pictures did get out. “Tbh at least they aren’t advertising it to their young, impressionable followers. Not a single one of them has posted on their socials about it. At least their *trying* to be decent influences.” But that seems to be more of a minority perspective with most commenting on just how irritating it is to watch the rich and famous do whatever they want.

This isn’t the first time some in this crew have been called out for their COVID choices. Insider reported that in July some 60+ influencers, including Charli D’Amelio, Dixie D’Amelio, among others, partied mostly sans face masks and with no social distancing at the Hype House for Larri Merritt’s birthday. And Ariana Grande put the influencers on blast for their out-and-about-during-a-pandemic lifestyles back in October. Doesn’t seem like they’ve changed their ways much.
