Andy Torbet, 45, features in the highly anticipated film No Time To Die, which will see Daniel Craig as the leading man on screen for a final time. The 53-year-old actor has said the latest James Bond movie will be his last as the globe-trotting spy.

For months, high profile names such as Idris Elba and Tom Hardy have been in the mix to replace the Bond veteran.

However, his replacement is yet to be confirmed.

Stuntman Andy has said he thinks Tom Hiddleston could be good at filling the spot as he enjoyed his performance in The Night Manager.

However, he recalled the moment Daniel was announced as the new Bond, which took fans by surprise.

Speaking at the Bailey of Bristol party in London, he said: “Daniel Craig kind of came out of nowhere, I don’t think he was on anybody’s list at the time.

“When he first got Bond, the press and probably a lot of the public were up in arms and were slating him.

“When Casino Royale came out it was just amazing, it was like, ‘actually this is amazing’.

“So, I don’t think Daniel Craig was in the public like Idris Elba, who is amongst that kind of group, and he came from left field.

“And, he pulled out a blinder, an absolute blinder.”

Could we be in for another unexpected announcement?

In recent months, there have been talks that a female could potentially take the lead role and make history.

Andy said the idea could work and praised the female actresses in the upcoming film, which was co-written by Phoebe Waller Bridge.

“She’s a very strong writer and there’s a couple of strong female leads in the new one,” he spilled.

Actresses in the movie include; Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, Léa Seydoux as well as Naomie Harris.

“They’re going to be great in it, I’ve seen some of them do some of the action stuff off camera watching them,” Andy added.

“That’s going to be pretty impressive so there’s definitely some strong female acting in this one.”

All eyes were on Daniel at the premiere of the No Time To Die film this week.

On the red carpet, the actor said he had “mixed emotions” about leaving the franchise after 15 years.

The latest film was shot before the coronavirus pandemic, but its release was put on hold.

He added: “I’m just relieved that we got here!

“It’s just been a long journey. We’ve all had a pretty terrible couple of years.”

On his exit, he added: “It’s mixed emotions but I just want to celebrate tonight.”
