Davina McCall, 53, who presented Big Brother, has told fans she is heartbroken by Nikki Grahame’s death. The latter has died following a long-term battle with anorexia. Taking to her Twitter this evening, the presenter led tributes, in view of her 2.7 million followers.

She wrote: “I am so desperately sad to hear about Nikki Graham x My thoughts are with her friends and family xx.

“She really was the funniest, most bubbly sweetest girl x.”

Davina concluded her post with a series of broken and love heart emojis.

Nikki’s manager confirmed her death to Express.co.uk this evening.

He said: “It is with immeasurable sadness that Nikki Grahame passed away in the early hours of Friday 9th April 2021.

“Please respect the privacy of Nikki’s friends and family at this tragic and difficult time.”

Friends of Nikki had grew concerned about her health in recent weeks and set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for private treatment.

The initial target for treatment funds was £50,000 and over £65,000 was raised.

A statement on the page said the reality star’s treatment via the NHS had “failed”.

“We have exhausted every avenue possible, and now Nik is unfortunately in a very bad way, this is now our last hope,” they added.

Nikki had been battling her anorexia from a very young age and spent a lot of childhoos and teenage years in eating disorder units.

Her mum Susan had expressed her concerns for the reality star on This Morning last month.

Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, she said: “With Covid, it sounds crazy but stuff like gyms closing impacted her.

“In order for her to eat she needs to know she can exercise, so when they closed it was quite a worry, the isolation as well.

“I asked her if she would come and stay with me but she said she needs to be in her home.”

Susan went on to say Nikki had also been suffering from loneliness due to the pandemic.

Tributes have flooded in for the Big Brother icon on social media this evening.

BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker commented: “How incredibly sad. Nikki was a guest on Breakfast on a few occasions over the past few years and was always great.”

Paddy McGuinness added: “Just read the sad news about Nikki Grahame. Definitely one of the stars from the glory years of reality tv. I met her a long time ago and she was a lovely girl. RIP young lady.”
