Death In Paradise star Ralf Little shares complaints about living in Caribbean for show

Lorraine: Ralf Little says he had a ‘debate’ with girlfriend

Death In Paradise actor Ralf Little spent half of last year on the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, filming scenes for season 10 of the detective drama. The 40-year-old actor, who joined the cast of the show back in 2019 as DI Neville Parker, revealed his biggest complaints about island life.

The TV star, who found fame in BBC sitcom The Royle Family back in 1998, said the unstable WI-FI was one of the things that frustrated him the most.

He also admitted that the power often went out when there was a storm.

This most likely caused problems for the Manchester-born star as he kept in contact with friends and family back home via his phone and laptop.

Also living in another country while he was shooting the show, was Ralf’s fiancé, American screenplay writer, Lindsey Ferrentino.

Despite the idyllic location, Ralf opened up about some of the issues.

He said: “It is funny – you do complain that the Wi-Fi’s really unstable, and sometimes the electrics go in a storm.”

He went on to talk about the danger of leaving food out after making dinner.

“You can’t leave even a crumb out after cooking ’cause 10 minutes later there’ll be a mound of ants all over it.”

Despite his small complaints, Ralf told The Telegraph that the beautiful setting more than made up for the technical problems he encountered.

During a video call with the publication, he spoke of the incredible scenery he was able to observe from his beachside accommodation.

He also counted the wildlife as an added bonus.

Ralf was delighted when he caught a glimpse of “500 dolphins and two sperm whales, just breaching as I went past” on a recent boat trip.

“I never thought I’d see that in my entire life!” he continued in awe.

The actor will get the chance to enjoy the stunning beauty of the Death In Paradise set for at least another six months.

He recently confirmed that he would be back for the 11th series of the programme.

Filming will likely begin later this year.

The BBC and Red Planet Pictures have confirmed that the show has been commissioned for two more seasons.

They said it will see both new and old faces in the upcoming episodes.

Seasons 11 and 12 “will see cast regulars and new faces alike descend on Saint Marie, delving into a world of mysterious murders and perplexing puzzles that have gained Death in Paradise its reputation as a shining example of the crime drama genre”.
