DJ Khaled joined by H.E.R. and Migos kick off the Billboard Awards

DJ Khaled joined by H.E.R. and Migos kick off the 2021 Billboard Music Awards by performing We’re Going Crazy in front of HUNDREDS of fans

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards kicked off with a fun-filled live performance by DJ Khaled, who was joined by H.E.R. and Migos to sing their hit We’re Going Crazy.

Unlike many of the performances over the past year and a half, the artists performed in front of actual fans outside of the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, in what was likely one of the largest live crowds in months.

Host Nick Jonas revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week that there will be between 500 and 600 fans in attendance, who were treated to the performance by Khaled, H.E.R. and Migos first on Sunday afternoon.

Khaled took to the stage wearing a multi-colored Dolce & Gabanna short-sleeved shirt with several diamond necklaces dangling off his shirt, including one with a diamond encrusted pendant that read We The Best.

He also rocked black pants while showing off one of the many pairs of sneakers in his massive collection, rocking a pair of Nike’s that slightly matched his shirt.

The rapper completed his look with a thick diamond bracelet and a diamond-encrusted watch.

She had her long black locks died back in a pony tail with black sunglasses and black spandex shorts.

Their hit song We’re Going Crazy was just released earlier this month and won’t be eligible for the Billboard Awards until next year.

H.E.R. is nominated for Top R&B Song for B.S., where she’s featured alongside Jhene Aiko.

The song is going up against Justin Bieber ft. Quavo’s Intentions, Chris Brown & Young Thug’s Go Crazy, Doja Cat’s Say So and The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights.

The debut performance is one of the biggest with fans in attendance since the COVID-19 pandemic started last spring, with Jonas revealing to THR that he and the producers have taken every precaution to keep everyone safe.

‘I think as performers, we thrive on the interaction with the crowd and not having that for a year and a half has been tough,’ Jonas said.

The fans shown in the crowd for DJ Khaled, H.E.R. and Migos’ performance were all seen wearing masks though it’s unclear if the show required vaccinations or negative COVID-19 tests for fans.
