EastEnders’ Adam Woodyatt furiously slams ‘w***er’ driver after road altercation

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has furiously slammed a driver after he had an altercation on the road while out cycling.

The 53 year old soap star, who plays Ian Beale on the BBC soap, took to his Instagram stories to remind the road user of the Highway Code, after the pair had a heated row.

Adam explained how he had called the driver a "w****er" after they overtook him on a narrow road. The driver then turned around to confront the soap actor.

After the altercation, Adam addressed the driver directly as he wrote on his Instagram story: “If the car driver I gestured at and call a w***er on a narrow lane who then turned round and caught up with me further up the road so he would tell me how wrong I was to be out on the road…

“in case you now coming looking for me on social media, please read rules 162, 162 & 167 of the Highway Code.”

In another post Adam, who recently reportedly vowed to keep moving after his divorce turned toxic, continued: “162. Before overtaking you should make sure… The road is sufficiently clear ahead.

“There is a suitable gap in front of the road user user you plan to overtake”.

Soap star Adam added: “163. Overtake only when it is safe and legal to do so. You should… Signal….


“Give way to oncoming vehicles… Give cyclists at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car (rules 211-215)”.

He ended his rant with: “167 DO NOT overtake where you might come into conflict with other road users.”

Adam, who recently showcased his incredible weight loss, took up cycling after his split from wife Beverley Sharp and credited his EastEnders costar Jake Wood for helping him lose weight.

Adam shared on his Instagram that Jake, who portrays Max Branning on the show, has been supporting him during his ongoing fitness journey.

The Ian Beale actor posted a snap of himself and Jake, 48, dressed in cycling gear and resting on their bikes in a wooded area.

He then told his fans in the caption: “If you go into the woods today… Lunchtime ride with @mrjakewood and his son”.

Adam told fans in a separate post: “Like my mate Mr Wood says, ‘you got to get out there. You got to do it.’ He goes running and I go cycling.”

Adam is currently taking an extended break from EastEnders. His latest storyline has seen his current wife Sharon attempt to poison him after she discovered her had a hand in her beloved son Denny’s death, who passed away following a tragic boat accident on the Thames during the special 35th anniversary episodes in February 2020.
