Jessie Wallace, 49, who stars as Kat Slater in EastEnders, has posted a racy remark under Max Bowden’s latest photo. The BBC soap actress couldn’t resist leaving a seemingly flirty comment under her pal’s throwback snap of himself suited and booted at the National Television Awards two years ago.

I’m yer gal

The Ben Mitchell actor shared the snap, where he appeared looking rather dapper in a tweed suit.

The star captioned the shot: “Been a lifetime since this photo. #ntas”

Showing her approval, Jessie replied with what appeared to be an inside joke, writing: “Remember… if you need a m***e to cry on…. I’m yer gal.”(sic)

Some eagle-eyed fans who spotted the explicit remark were convinced she was chatting him up.

One said: “@jessie.wallace_official Supportive m***e. I’m defiantly using this as a pick up line. Cheers Jess.“(sic)

Another said: “@jessie.wallace_official we need more Kat, Ben & Phil scenes.”

Max has yet to respond to Jessie’s comment.

Meanwhile, other fans remembered the night at the NTAs for when he lost out on the Best Newcomer gong.

One person raved: “I loved that suit and you should have won!!!”

That night, Max’s co-star Natalie Cassidy shouted “f**k off” when he missed out on the award.

The Sonia Fowler actress heckled Coronation Street’s Peter Ash after Max was left empty-handed.

Later, Max refused to stand up and clapped slowly as Emmerdale won the Best Soap award.

Some viewers were also convinced he muttered: “I’m not f***ing standing up”.

“Did he just say ‘I’m not f***ing standing?'” one viewer tweeted.

“Yes he did! Brilliant! He was Robbed!” another agreed.

Other fans called him a “legend”, while one added: “Good for him!”

The star is currently in a relationship with Danielle McCarney.

Last year he shared a number of snaps of the pair enjoying trips around the UK during a brief spell when the coronavirus lockdown lifted.

In one photo, the couple posed together on a beach in Cornwall during a particularly sunny day.

The caption read: “Just two geese walking into a Cornish bar looking for fish and beer.”
