EastEnders’ Dean Gaffney was inundated with support as he revealed he would be welcoming grandchild number two next year. The actor announced that his daughter Chloe, 25, who he welcomed to the world as a teen, is now expecting her second baby.

Taking to Instagram, he posted a photo of his granddaughter Mimi clutching an ultrasound scan.

“So Mimi, you are telling me I’m going to be a grandad for the second time,” the proud actor announced.

Dean – who played Robbie Fowler on the soap – was inundated with comments from fans scarcely able to believe the youthful looking onscreen star was already a grandparent.

“Surely you are too young to be a granddad,” one social media user told him.

He had already addressed the issue last year after Mimi’s arrival, explaining: ” Lots of my mates are becoming dads, but I’m a grandad at the same age.”

The star added that fellow Eastenders star Danny Dyer, then 43, was the only man he knew in the same situation.

“I’ll be calling him for tips. We could do grandaddy daycare together,” he joked, during an interview for The Sun on Sunday.

“I’m hoping people will see me pushing a pram in the street and go, ‘Oh, is that your child?’” he continued jokingly.

It seems as though his Instagram fans agree with him, as the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here contestant prepares to repeat the process for a second time.

His daughter Chloe currently works in PR for the fashion brand Pretty Little Thing, while she also has a twin called Charlotte, who is not believed to have yet started a family.

Dean is a proud parent and regularly posts photo updates featuring his “princesses”.

He dated the mother of his children, Sarah Burge, for 22 years, starting when the pair were still in school aged 15, and she gave birth to his twins while he was at the height of his EastEnders fame.

He has revealed that he tries to make a date with his daughters at least once a week, and that it was on a night out together that he discovered the secret Chloe had been keeping from him during her first pregnancy.

He had been accustomed to “doing shots” with her on previous evenings together, but then, on one occasion, the expectant mum-to-be totally shut down the suggestion of alcoholic drinks.

“I’m sticking to water – why do you think that is?” she told Dean, only for him to embarrass her by jokingly responding: “You’ve had sex!”

When her baby girl was finally born, the proud granddad took to Instagram to share the happy news..

“Welcome to this crazy world, my beautiful granddaughter Mimi. I can’t believe my baby is now a mother, proud is an understatement,” he wrote.

In reference to her and her partner, he declared: “Chloe and Declan — you’re going to be amazing parents.”

Meanwhile, fans are on tenterhooks waiting to hear what ex-Eastenders star Dean will be up to next.
