‘Wait until I see that little b******d!’ Elton John takes playful swipe at Ed Sheeran for ‘nearly killing’ him as the young star dons sexy Santa costume for their Christmas charity single

Elton John jokingly branded Ed Sheeran a ‘little b*****d’ for ‘nearly killing’ him on the set of their new Christmas charity single.   

The pair wowed fans as they packed on the festive cheer in their glittering video for their song Merry Christmas, on Friday.

The duo re-created scenes from iconic videos, including Wham’s Last Christmas,  Shakin’ Stevens’ Merry Christmas, The Snowman’s Walking in the Air and East 17’s Stay Another Day as they surprised fans with cameos from their famous friends.  

The A-team hitmaker, 30, really got into the festive spirit as he slipped into a sexy Santa outfit and swayed his hips back and forth while Elton, 74, tinkled the ivories surrounded by lavish decorations.

During an appearance on this week’s The Jonathan Ross Show, Elton was quizzed by the host that he almost suffered an accident on set.  

The singer responded: ‘I beg your pardon? I have no idea about this! I have no idea, this is news to me. Have you got proof?’ 

After Jonathan then explained how a bell had apparently almost hit him on the head, Elton said: ‘How big was the bell? Wait until I see that little b*****d!’

Directed by Jason Koenig, the video sees Ed and Elton pair their uplifting arrangements and joyous harmonies to ring in the Christmas season.

Ed then channeled Elton’s fashion sense as he donned a sparkley aqua coat and oversized glasses as they sang together in the snow-covered forest. 

They were given a helping hand by rock band The Darkness, who played in the background while a winter Mr Blobby danced along. 

And that wasn’t the end of the A-list cameos as Ed was then joined by Jonathan Ross, Big Narstie, and Michael McIntyre to re-create East 17’s Stay Another Day.

Getting in the giving spirit, the stars are donating the publishing royalties and sales profits from the single to Ed’s Suffolk Music Foundation and Elton’s AIDS Foundation. 

The heart-warming video for Merry Christmas was scripted by Jason Koenig, Jenny Koenig and Ed and pays homage to a selection of fan favourite music videos. 

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday at 10:30pm on ITV.
