Elvis actor Austin Butler says his ‘heart is shattered’ after loss of Lisa Marie Presley

Elvis actor Austin Butler has honoured the late King of Rock's only child Lisa Marie Presley after she died on Thursday.

Lisa Marie sadly died following a fatal cardiac arrest and her mother Pricilla Presley confirmed her passing.

It comes just days after Austin Butler won his first ever Golden Globe award for his portrayal of Lisa Marie's father Elvis Presley in the 2022 film Elvis.

Austin has now shared a statement with People Magazine where he said his "heart is completely shattered" for her children and mother after "the tragic and unexpected loss of Lisa Marie."

He said: "I am eternally grateful for the time I was lucky enough to be near her bright light and will forever cherish the quiet moments we shared.

"Her warmth, her love and her authenticity will always be remembered."

Lisa Marie was in the audience along with her mother Pricilla to cheer Austin on as he won the Best Actor in a Drama award.

In his acceptance speech, Austin thanked the Presley family "for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me."

"Lisa Marie, Priscilla," he continued in his speech, "I love you forever."

Lisa Marie made a speech at a party last week where they celebrated the Elvis film, where she addressed the attendees and said her dad would be proud of the movie.

She said: "I'm so overwhelmed by this film and the effect that it's had and what Baz has done, Austin's done. I'm so proud, and I know that my father would also be very proud. … I'm overwhelmed with gratitude, so thank you,"

Warner Bros. Pictures, the studio behind Elvis, have also made a statement where they honoured the rocker's daughter.

They said: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Lisa Marie Presley and send our condolences and sympathy to her children, family and people around the world who loved her. She was an invaluable partner and truly lovely person who we will remember as a devoted mother, beloved daughter and loving friend."

Lisa-Marie leaves behind three children, having been predeceased by her son Benjamin Keough.

It was her mother Pricilla who announced the tragic news her daughter had passed away.

She said: “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa-Marie has left us.

“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”
