Emily Atack shares rare snap with dad after mums appearance on After Life

Emily Atack shared a rare snap of her famous musician dad Keith as she spent some quality time with him during a recent get together.

The 32 year old looked happy to be catching up with her dad as she was pictured smiling next to him inside what looked to be a well-stacked wine shop.

"Couple of days with papa Keith,” Emily captioned.

Her musically-talented dad featured on Top of the Pops several times whilst in 1970s pop band Child and went on to become a successful film score composer having worked on Cemetery Junction and Wayland’s Song.

As well as being a musician, a video clip Emily uploaded to Instagram Stories on Wednesday revealed that Keith is also a dab hand in the kitchen, as she filmed the ex band member chopping up ingredients in preparation for a family dinner.

These snapshots of Emily’s dad come after the TV star revealed to her 1.8 million followers that her mum Kate also works in the entertainment business and is currently starring in the new series of After Life alongside the show's creator Ricky Gervais.

Posting a photo of her mum playing character Penny Spencer Wright on the show, Emily wrote: “Proud isn’t even the word. My mother playing Penny Spencer Wright in Afterlife, reminding everyone what an absolute comedy legend she is.

She continued: “I remember the first time I ever saw her on stage in Edinburgh when I was about 9 years old, and someone came over to me and said “your mum is one hell of a woman!” – I didn’t really know what that meant then, I do now @katerobbins.”

Emily’s mum Kate was married to her Keith for nearly 20 years before the couple got divorced.

The actress began her career as a singer like her ex husband and found fame as a musician in the 1980s, before turning her attention to acting. She even featured on EastEnders last year as music agent Jen Glover.

Fans were surprised to learn that Emily’s mum features on the Netflix comedy-drama After Life and were quick to leave their reactions in the comment section of the Inbetweeners star's post.

“I didn't realise this was your Mum, loved her character. The reading was so funny,” one user wrote, while another added: "Best thing I've seen in ages. I couldn't work out if she was your mum at first. Brilliant! She needs a spin off."
