Everything to Know About ‘Heartstopper’ Season 2 – Get the Details!

Fans have been anticipating the second season of Heartstopper!!

The hit Netflix series is, of course, based on the popular web comic series by Alice Oseman, who also writes the television adaptation.

In the first season, we meet “gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick meet at secondary school, they quickly discover that their unlikely friendship is blossoming into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick and their circle of friends must navigate the ever-relatable journey of self discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves.”

What’s the plot?

Nick and Charlie navigate their new relationship; Tara and Darcy face unforeseen challenges and Tao and Elle work out if they can ever be more than just friends. With exams on the horizon, a school trip to Paris and a prom to plan, the gang has a lot to juggle as they journey through the next stages of life, love and friendship.

Which stars are returning?

The main cast of the series is all returning, including Kit Connor (Nick), Joe Locke (Charlie), Yasmin Finney (Elle), William Gao (Tao), Corinna Brown (Tara), Kizzy Edgell (Darcy), Sebastian Croft (Ben), Tobie Donovan (Isaac), Rhea Norwood (Imogen), Jenny Walser (Tori) and Cormac Hyde-Corrin (Harry).

Olivia Colman (Sarah Nelson), Fisayo Akinade (Mr Ajayi), Evan Ovenell (Christian), Ashwin Vishwanath (Sai), Chetna Pandya (Coach Singh), Alan Turkington (Mr Lange), Joseph Balderrama (Julio Spring), Georgina Rich (Jane Spring), Momo Yeong (Yan Xu), Araloyin Oshunremi (Otis) and Stephen Fry (Headmaster Barnes) all return as well.

Bradley Riches is returning to the show, but this season he has a much bigger role and his character now has the name James McEwan!

Has filming started?

Filming on the new season kicked off in September 2022 and wrapped in December 2022.

Is there a trailer?

The first teaser trailer was unveiled by the cast at London Pride on July 1, 2023.

The full, official trailer then premiered a few weeks later!

When does it premiere?

All eight episodes of the new season debuted on Netflix on Thursday, August 3rd!

Will there be another season?

Netflix actually renewed Heartstopper for TWO more seasons back in May 2022, following the success of the first season.

The hit show will be returning for a season three!
