Garbage Share Cover Of Siouxsie And The Banshees' 'Cities In Dust'

Garbage dropped a new EP called Witness To Your Love on Record Store Day last weekend, with the record featuring a cover of Siouxsie And The Banshees‘ classic “Cities In Dust.”

“Cities in Dust” was a track from Siouxsie and the Banshees’ seventh studio album, Tinderbox. It was released on October 18, 1985 as the album’s lead single. The lyrics describe the city of Pompeii, which was destroyed in a volcanic eruption in 79 AD.

A previous cover of the song by Everlove was featured in a trailer for Season 4 of “Game of Thrones.”

Meanwhile, in addition to the “Cities In Dust” cover, Witness to Your Love includes the eponymous 2008 rarity along with two previously unreleased tracks from the sessions for Garbage’s 2021 album, No Gods, No Masters.
