Gemma Collins ‘feels at peace with her soul’ after becoming a vegetarian

Gemma Collins has announced she's switched to a vegetarian diet and now feels "at peace" with her soul.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 42, took to Instagram to reveal she's now adopted a meat-free diet as she "can't stand" animal cruelty and is "such an activist" for animals.

Gemma, who recently revealed she ditched filler after her mum made a heartbreaking comment, shared a make-up free selfie and posed with a bowl of watermelon as she announced her latest lifestyle change.

"Guys so happy to tell you I'm meat free I just can't stand the cruelty to animals and I'm raising my vibration," she wrote.

She went on to add: "I feel at peace with my soul how could I eat meat when I'm such an activist for the animals".

Showing off some of her meat-free dishes, Gemma then followed up her initial post by posting a snap of her Chinese takeaway, which included a number of different vegetables.

"Last night's Chinese," the ex-TOWIE favourite announced.

Gemma's latest lifestyle change comes after she revealed it might be time for her to move on from Essex, after feeling she's "outgrown" it.

She told OK!: "At the moment, though, I’ve got my eye on moving to Surrey. Sam Faiers lives there. I do feel like I’ve totally outgrown Essex.”

Back in October last year, Gemma was on the hunt for a second property after "outgrowing" her Essex mansion.

The star said "there are animals everywhere, there are people everywhere" in her sprawling mansion, and she will need another house soon due to "growing out" of her current home.

Gemma also told us she currently wants to "protect her energy" as much as possible and doesn't want any negativity surrounding her.

"Where I live now is very different to TOWIE," the star explained. "Now, I don’t really see many people and I’m particular about who I have around me.

"I protect my energy, honey. Humans are not always nice and there are very strange people in the world. And I don’t want to be around them and have any negativity. I have to protect myself and my body as much as I can.”
