Alan could be at home next week after rapidly deteriorating over the festive period.

"I have had such a distressing time due to both my parents having Covid," the GC said on her show.

"I finally got a call from the doctor to say that my dad has been keeping really stable. And he is coming down off of his breathing masks.

"We're hoping to have him home with us next week. When it happens so close and within your family it literally tears you apart."

The emotional 39 year old added: "Our house is not the same without my dad and it has been such a scary time because we just haven’t known how he was going to be.

"There were moments where we all had to have the chat about you know what if dad doesn’t pull through."

Her mum Joan also had the killer bug, but has now recovered.
