Georgia Harrison praised as she appears on GMB in emotional first interview after revenge porn trial

Love Island star Georgia Harrison has reflected on a tumultuous journey towards justice after her ex-partner Stephen Bear leaked an explicit video of them together in 2020.

Known to reality TV fans for his stints on Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity Big Brother, the 32 year old was found guilty on two counts of revenge porn, and one count of voyeurism earlier this week – despite denying these charges in court – and could potentially face a maximum of two years in prison with a potential unlimited fine.

Joining Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh and Adil Ray today, Georgia said of her nightmarish ordeal: "I felt my right to anonymity was taken away almost immediately because so many people were aware of the video. I had just suffered in silence with the fear of it surfacing for so long that when it finally did, I thought, not only do I want to take a stand for myself but I wanna do it for other women and men because it is such a rife crime.

"People do not understand the affect it has on people. I never for a second believed that it would go to the scale that it did… I trusted him."

Recounting how she originally came to discover his crime, the TV personality went on to share: "At first I got sent a screenshot of the video and that was from someone who was in America, so that was when the world sort of fell beneath my feet and I knew it had gone global.

"And then I did a reach out to my followers, because I was just fed up of living with this and not knowing where it was coming from.

"From that, we had about a hundred different videos from all different platforms get sent over, it was on multiple platforms across the internet, and as soon as I had made it known that I was looking for some evidence, it spread like wildfire."

Further down the line, Georgia, who also showed up on The Only Way is Essex back in 2014, discussed the strength she had to muster throughout the trial.

"It’s actually been two years since the day it happened and to be honest, I really did hide myself in a room for a long time.," she admitted.

"Everywhere I went people were speaking about it. I felt very used, that you could love and trust someone and know in that moment that what you thought was a moment of love, was really a moment of making money for them."

Signing off, she made sure to leave a message for young men and women to consider too.

"This crime is so much more rife than you would ever imagine. Young boys, it's not a good thing to do, you will be publicly shamed. It’s unacceptable and it could change someone's life to the point where they may want to commit suicide, it is really a life-changing thing to share these images.

"And for women, it's just not worth the risk."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 & ITVX.
