Glass Animals’ ‘Heat Waves’ Tops Australia’s Triple J Hottest 100 Of 2020

Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” topped Australia’s Triple J Hottest 100 of 2020 chart.

Glass Animals posted a message on Instagram after their song from the album Dreamland became No 1 on the predominantly local chart.

“Thank you to everyone who believed in this song,” they said. “Congratulations to everyone in the hottest 100…so many incredible, highly deserving artists. And congratulations to everyone who released something last year.”

“Australia has always had a special place in our hearts…and now…it will have a special place on our butts. Anyone know a good tattoo artist?,” the Dave Bayley-led band added.

“Heat Waves” was voted the best song in the annual Australian song poll by a lead of 350 votes over the No. 2 song, Spacey Jane‘s “Booster Seat.”

The psychedelic-pop purists are the first British band to top Triple J’s Hottest 100 after Mumford & Sons‘ “Little Lion Man” hit No. 1 in 2009.

Glass Animals returned to the Global Spotify Daily Top 100 last week.
