GMBs Susanna calls Matt Hancocks Im A Celeb entry degrading over penis eating trials

Susanna Reid has said people will be watching I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! just to see former health minister Matt Hancock suffering in the Australian jungle.

Kicking off the conversation on Good Morning Britain on 2 November, Susanna, 51, spoke to her co-host Ed Balls, 55, and their guests Andrew Pierce, 61, and Kevin Maguire, 62, on her thoughts about Hancock joining the star-studded line-up.

"I think people are going to be watching in order to see him in the jungle," she said. "A lot of people have been a little bit unkind about it. Andy Drummond, deputy chairman of West Suffolk Conservative Association, said he was looking forward to seeing Mr Hancock eating a kangaroo's – I'm not sure we can say the word at this time in the morning. But part of a kangaroo's genitals."

Ed Balls then interjected to complete the sentence as he said: "Penis."

Susanna then repeated: "Penis, right. Thank you very much. Not just say it, but say it multiple times!"

"It's what he said. I'm really sorry but it's not a joke, that's what they do," Ed replied, laughing, to which Susanna responded: "You're right, that's what they do. Apologies to any families watching this morning."

The brunette beauty then went on to talk about how "degrading" it seems to be for the MP to be heading into camp to suffer through Bushtucker trials alongside the likes of Mike Tindall, 44.

She said: "It's kind of degrading, isn't it? For a constituency MP who should be representing his constituents, who still has to be answering questions about what happened during the Covid pandemic…"

Unable to hold back his shock over the development, Andrew then spoke out as he said: "Jaw dropping. Actually jaw dropping. Someone at the office told me about it and I said, 'He's on what?' I couldn't believe that someone who still takes himself seriously could be going on this programme."

He then announced his intentions to watch the show "for once" and even vote as he wants Hancock, who said his stint in the jungle will help promote his dyslexia campaign, to be "humiliated".

"Do you vote to keep them in?" he questioned, before adding: "Because I want him to be humiliated and then get him out. We don't want him out immediately."

Kevin then shared: "I think this is the way we pick new Tory leaders and Prime Ministers because at least the public get a vote. He's an idiot, a complete and utter idiot. He's demeaned, degraded himself."

"He's finished politically, but also if you're [Rishi] Sunak, and Sunak is furious, where's your authority? What's he saying about the conservative party in the UK?" he added.

Fans immediately flocked to Twitter to react to the conversation as one person wrote: "His experience with video cameras has not gone well for him in the past".

Another angry viewer said: "Absolute joke Matt Hancock get paid a few quid when we’re all struggling with the cost of living absolute disgrace he’s allowed should not be allowed I won’t be watch show in protest," followed by an angry emoji.

While a third joked: "people missing an opportunity here to get him doing every trial going," alongside two crying with laughter emojis.
