Gwyneth Paltrow's Go-To Song For When She's Upset Is CardiB's 'WAP'

Gwyneth Paltrow is a multi-talented woman, known to fans around the world for her work in movies like Shakespeare in Love and Emma — as well as a vital member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Paltrow has also become popular for her business acumen and, over the years, she has gotten heavily involved in her lifestyle company, Goop. While she is sometimes controversial, Paltrow is always living her best life. In a recent interview with Kelly Clarkson, Paltrow opened up about the one song that always turns to when she needs to decompress.

What is Gwyneth Paltrow best known for?

Paltrow first became famous in the early ’90s, a go-to actress for directors who needed performers who could act in period dramas. She quickly proved, however, that she was much more than a pretty face in old-fashioned clothing.

She was able to act in everything from intense dramas and murder mysteries to romantic comedies. In 1998, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress thanks to her work in Shakespeare in Love.

Over the years, Paltrow has continued to act in projects that appeal to her. But in recent years, her primary focus has been on her lifestyle business, Goop.

While Paltrow has often been the subject of controversy thanks to Goop, with her critics stating that the website promotes dangerous pseudoscience, Paltrow herself has always risen above the fray. The actor and mom of two is as popular as she ever was, and it seems as though Paltrow will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

Gwyneth Paltrow revealed her go-to stress relief song

Considering her busy schedule, it is no surprise that Paltrow occasionally feels the pinch of stress. In a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Paltrow opened up about the music she listens to when she really needs a mood boost.

When asked what specific songs she listens to when she’s feeling down and out, Paltrow responded immediately: “Wet A– P—y.” At the mention of the Cardi B jam, host Clarkson broke out in laughter.

“I need to see the tape back,” she joked. “Cause I felt like I was like, ‘Oh…wait what?’” Paltrow’s admission is probably no surprise to millions of music lovers all over the world, but the song “WAP” has caused a lot of controversy in the months since it was released.

The song ‘WAP’ is highly controversial

In the summer of 2020, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion released the song “WAP,” an ode to female genitalia. The music video immediately went viral, featuring guest appearances from pop culture personalities like Kylie Jenner and Normani. Still, the shining stars of the video were Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, two rappers who have both been having a moment in the spotlight.

The song, which is undoubtedly intensely catchy, struck a lot of critics as being too filthy for prime time, and everyone from politicians to fellow musicians slammed the tune as being profane and inappropriate. Although “WAP” has now been out for more than half a year, people are still taking to social media to decry the song, with many people demanding that the tune — even the edited version — be removed from radio airwaves entirely.

At this point in time, all the buzz seems to only be enhancing the song’s popularity, and Paltrow’s recent admission is probably only going to add fuel to the fire.
