Halsey Explains Preferred Pronouns Feel ‘Most Authentic’

Halsey recently gave an explanation to fans after updating her preferred pronouns on social media.

On Saturday, March 13, Halsey updated her social media pronouns to “she/they,” which means that the person is comfortable being referred to using “she/her” or “they/them” pronouns interchangeably.

The alt-pop superstar subsequently posted a further explanation about the update on their Instagram Story on Monday, March 22.

“For those asking RE: my updated IG bio, I am happy with either pronouns,” Halsey wrote. “The inclusion of ‘they’ in addition to ‘she’ feels most authentic to me.”

“If you know me at all, you know what it means to me to express this outwardly. Thanks for being the best,” she added.

The “Without Me” singer is expecting her first child with boyfriend, screenwriter Alev Aydin. Halsey had revealed the news in January with an Instagram post that featured several photos that showed off her baby bump.
