The ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ artist, who has been opening up about their struggle with endometriosis, shares update on their medical condition through Instagram Story.
AceShowbiz –Halsey has opened up about their health woes. In a series of videos shared on Instagram Story, the “Nightmare” singer divulged that they have been “in and out” hospital because they were diagnosed with multiple conditions.
“Obviously my health has changed a lot since I got pregnant and gave birth,” the 27-year-old said in the Tuesday, May 10 post. “I started getting really, really, really, sick… I was hospitalized for anaphylaxis [a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction] a few times and I had some other stuff going on.”
Halsey, who is a mom to 9-month-old son Ender, went on to note that they’ve also been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) as well as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) “after seeing a hundred thousand doctors.”
“I’ve been looking for answers to the root cause of some of these things, which may be an autoimmune disease,” Halsey continued. “And I know I’ve had autoimmune issues for most of my life, especially having endometriosis.”
The “Sing 2” actress, however, declared that they “don’t want anybody to be worrying” because they’re “on a treatment plan right now.” The musician additionally told their Instagram followers that they’re still in rehearsals for the upcoming “Love and Power” Tour, saying, “I’m really excited and I’m really confident that I’ll be able to do it in a way that’s healthy, where I can perform my best for all of you.”
“I’m here, I’m ready to go,” the singer, who had surgery three days before attending the 2022 Grammy Awards, added. “The tour is going to be f**king crazy.”
Halsey previously hinted that they would be going “MIA” due to their “chronic illness.” Taking to Instagram Story, they penned, “Trying my best to keep things normal; Grammys, Coachella etc… But my body is putting up a strong protest. And ultimately demanding that I slow down or stop foreal this time. Especially so I can be in the best shape for tour.”
“Chronic illness is a complex mystery,” the mother of one further elaborated. “If I am or have been MIA please don’t take it personally… I am doing the best I can under difficult circumstances. Sharing this for my fellow spoonies. All that glitters…”
