Summer on the Farm star Helen Skelton, 37, has opened up on her friendship with Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen, 46. The Countryfile presenter revealed that she often turns to Amanda for help and advice on looking after her two young sons, five-year-old Ernie and four-year-old Louis, who she shares with husband Richie Myler.

Helen divulged that Amanda, who has nine children with her other half Clive Owen between the ages of 20 and four, is an inspiration to her as she juggles being a mother and running Ravenseat Farm.

The star admitted: “Whenever I see [Amanda] I’m like ‘what shall I do about my kids with this? What should I do with my kids for that?’

“She’s got nine and I’ve got two so whenever I feel overwhelmed I’m like ‘this is fine it’s only two’.”

Helen added to The Express: “I mean the fact that she’s got nine kids and she has a working farm, I think puts her among super woman powers for most people.”

Amanda often enlists her brood, made up of Raven, 20, Reuben, 17, Miles, 15, Edith, 12, Violet, ten, Sidney, nine, Anna, seven, Clemmie, five, and Nancy, four, to help out with tasks on their family’s farm.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess recently discussed growing her family by one more.

“I think I’m too old to have a tenth child,” the television personality said.

She then added to The Sun: “I don’t know, wait and see!

“There was never any family planning, so who knows? Don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t do.

“People are quick to say to a mum of nine, ‘You can’t do this, you can’t do that’.

“But I want to be an example to my kids, to say, ‘You can be whatever you want to be — don’t let other people define you.'”

Meanwhile, Helen previously opened up on “giving up” work for her husband Richie.

The star moved to the South of France after Richie joined the rugby team Catalans Dragons in 2015.

The couple moved to the country shortly after the birth of their first son Ernie.

Two years later, they welcomed their second son Louis into the world.

Podcast host Andy Jaye quizzed the presenter about her “stop time” during this period and said it appeared as though she had given up “quite a lot” for her spouse’s career.

However, the presenter set the record straight on the matter, as she said: “I didn’t, I gained a lot. I moved to the South of France and lived opposite the beach.

“It was five steps from my door to the Mediterranean sea and 10 steps the other way to a vineyard.

“So I think it wasn’t such a tough time for me.”

Helen went on to say her husband is a “very hands on dad” and said it was her choice to put “someone else first”.
