Holly Willoughby posts cryptic message ahead of This Morning return

Ahead of her return to This Morning, Holly Willoughby has penned a cryptic message on social media.

The TV presenter has been absent from the show since her former co-worker Phillip Schofield, 61, stepped down after 21 years with immediate effect.

Since then, Phillip, 61, has resigned from ITV all together and was dropped by his talent agency YMU after admitting to an “unwise, but not illegal” affair with a young male colleague on This Morning.

After the news was revealed, Holly took to Instagram to share a statement on 27 May which read: "It has taken time to process yesterday's news.

"When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not. It's been very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie."

Escaping the commotion around the Phillip scandal, Holly, 42, jetted off with her family for a holiday in Portugal.

The mum-of-three is due to return to our screens tomorrow with co-host Josie Gibson, where a source has claimed that she will address the recent news around Phillip.

In the lead up to her return, Holly shared a picture of the Strawberry Moon on her lifestyle account and brand, WYLDE MOON, which has 180k Instagram followers, where she seemed to encourage her fans to "maintain a positive perspective."

Across the picture uploaded, the words read: "This Full 'Strawberry' Moon in Sagittarius brings with it a zest for life.

"The guiding influence of this fire sign combined with Jupiter encourages you to maintain a positive perspective and to tune into your finest qualities," it continued. "Inspire. Renew. Believe."

In a recent interview with The Sun, Phillip remained adamant that Holly did not know about his "unwise" but "not illegal" affair with the younger colleague.

He told the publication: “I’ve lost my best friend. I let her down (Holly). I let that entire show down. I let the viewers down.

“Holly did not know (about the romance). And she was one of the first texts that I sent, to say, ‘I am so, so sorry that I lied to you’.

“She didn’t reply and I understand why she didn’t reply, as well. So yeah. If anyone is in any way linking Holly to this; that is absolutely, wholly untrue.”
