Homes Under The Hammer star Martin Roberts took to social media today to thank fans for their support and well wishes following his bout of bad health. The property show presenter had to make a dash to hospital last week when his cellulitis “flared up again”.

In his update today, Martin informed his 27,700 followers that his foot was finally feeling “a bit better”.

The BBC star went on to urge his fans to take the condition seriously.

According to the NHS website, Cellulitis is a skin infection.

It causes the skin, in any part of the body, to feel painful, hot and swollen.

Alongside a video of himself, he wrote online: “A quick update on my foot and a HUGE Thank you for all your concern and kind messages. It’s meant the world.”(sic)

In the clip he said sorry for his social media absence, explaining that he had taken a while to recover.

“Hi there it’s me. Apologies for not being in contact for a few days unfortunately it has taken this long for my foot to get anything like better.

“So, I don’t really know what to say other than, ‘Ouch! It’s still hurting,’ but that’s not the message I wanted to give,” he said to the camera.

“So I’m glad to say that here on this Saturday morning, it’s finally feeling a bit better, but it does go to show that you do need to take this seriously.

“If you’ve got anything like I had, this cellulitis, look at the pictures of what it looked like and get it treated soon, ’cause unless you get those antibiotics into you quickly it can get really, really, serious.

“Even with the antibiotics it takes a while to get better.

“But I just wanted to say thank you for your kind messages, it genuinely has made a difference. I really appreciate it,” he said.

“I’m glad you’re on the mend. It does take a while. I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone,” another added.

Sharing a similar thought, a third person said: “Great to see you up and about!”

Following his initial trip to hospital last week, Marin’s former presenting co-star Lucy Alexander reached out to him to send him well wishes.

“Hope you are ok Matey. xx,” the TV star wrote online.

Earlier in the day, Martin had explained that his cellulitis had flared up again and spread to his other leg.

He was admitted to hospital and underwent blood tests before being released.
