I’m A Celeb fans left confused as Danny Miller is missing as Jill Scott is crowned winner

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! viewers were left confused during the finale as last year’s champion Danny Miller was absent for the honoured tradition of passing on the crown.

This year’s competition has now wrapped after weeks of Matt Hancock digs, gut-wrenching challenges and who could forget Olivia Attwood’s dramatic exit after just 24 hours in the jungle?

But during the final moments of the show, which saw Euro champion Jill Scott crowned the winner, some fans questioned why 2021’s victor was not present.

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller won the crown last year after the series was moved to Wales due to the pandemic.

The actor, 31, has been pretty vocal on Twitter throughout the show, and yet, was nowhere to be seen on Sunday night.

"Errrrrrrrr where is Danny?" one fan questioned on Twitter, while a second added, "Where is Danny Miller? #imacelebritygetmeoutofhere #imaceleb #imacelebrity."

Danny has been active on social media throughout the show, and earlier commented on the final three of Jill, Hollyoaks heartthrob Owen Warner and the infamous Tory MP Matt Hancock.

Before the final, he penned: “Matt Hancock in the final 3 sums this series up. Deep breath, regroup and we’ll see you back in Wales next year yeah?”

After her crowning, Jill took to Twitter and wrote: “It’s coming home, it’s coming, the jungle crown is coming home.

“To everyone who voted, thank you for making this happen. Now time for that flat white.”

“Deserved winner @JillScottJS8! A pleasure to hand over the crown to you! Enjoy it!” Danny replied.

In response, one fan speculated behind the reason Danny was omitted and said: “Thought you’d have been there to hand over the crown, guessing covid rules?”

“Wish you had been there to hand over the crown,” another person wrote.

Back in October, Danny admitted that scheduling conflicts meant he wouldn't be able to attend the crowning like previous winners.

Appearing on Lorraine, the Aaron Dingle actor said: "It would be nice wouldn't it. Well I'm actually doing panto this year, oh yes I am. So I won't be able to make it, but I'm not sure they would have invited me anyway.

"It's kind of… it felt like two different shows."

Speaking after her win, a stunned Jill put her face in her hands and exclaimed: "Oh my God!"

She added: "I just can't believe it, honestly, I think I'm going to owe my grandma a lot of money for those 12 million votes. I couldn't have got through it without all the other guys, it was a team effort."

The final few episodes also saw a wave of emotional reunions as the show’s stars finally laid eyes on their loved ones after weeks of critters and Bushtucker trials.

Jill was snapped embracing her fiancée Shelly Unitt, Zara Tindall surprised an emotional Mark Tindall on the bridge, and some even said that Matt Hancock recreated his scandal picture with his former aide and current girlfriend Gina Colangelo.
