The Wanted’s Tom Parker has taken to Instagram to ask his fans for advice over whether it’s “selfish” for him and his wife Kelsie to have more children considering his “health situation”. Tom, 33, is already father to his daughter Aurelia, two, and son Bodhi, 11 months, whom he shares with his wife of three years, Kelsie. In October last year, Tom told his fans that he had been diagnosed with an inoperable glioblastoma after having a seizure three months earlier. However, he has since shared the good news that his tumour had “significantly reduced” and remains “stable”.

I would still like more kids, but is that selfish, given our health situation?

In view of his 234,000 fans, the pop star took to his stories to ask for advice.

Tom said: “Some advice needed…

“So, me and Kelsie would like more kids in the future, it’s something that we discussed obviously pre-cancer.

He went on: “But now I’m a bit like… I would still like more kids, but is that selfish, given our health situation?

“Hmm”, Tom uttered, looking deep in thought before signing off.

Minutes later, the star revealed that one of his fans had responded with a poignant answer.

Tom said: “Someone came through on that question, [it] proper hit deep.

“Someone said, ‘Listen, it doesn’t matter whether you have cancer or not, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow, so therefore you shouldn’t live your life like, what if tomorrow? Or, what if I’m not around tomorrow.

“And I was like, that’s true. It doesn’t matter if you have cancer or not, or whatever.

“You just live your life for today,” he added.

The singer has previously spoken about expanding his family, saying that it’s something he and his wife both want.

In May this year, the star said that he and his wife are planning to have more children less than a year after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Speaking to OK! Magazine five months ago the couple spoke about their plans to expand their family after Tom’s doctors saw a “significant reduction” in the size of his tumour following treatment.

“We are planning for more children,” Kelsey told the publication.

“I’ve always wanted a big family and I think we’ll end up with four,” she went on to say.

The 31-year-old, who was pregnant with her second child when her husband was given the devastating news of his cancer, said the family had been through “a lot”.

“There’s only a 16-month age gap between our two children and it’s definitely been a lot, even without taking into account our circumstances, so I won’t be having children that close in age again – doing that once was enough,” the actress continued.

In August, the star shared the good news with his fans that the results of his latest scan revealed his brain tumour remains stable.

Tom wrote: “OK… here goes. The last couple of days have been filled with dread and worry but I’m pleased to announce that the results of yesterday’s scan (lovely birthday present), are stable with a slight reduction in the tumour if anything.

“I can’t tell you how grateful I am to receive this news. We left it a little longer between scans this time just to give time for the medication to work etc but overall a great day.

“Thanks to all our healthcare team. You are truly wonderful. And thank you all you lovely people out there sending love and support,” he ended the post.
