ITV’s I’m A Celeb star Naughty Boy’s tragic loss after sister died aged seven

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Naughty Boy tragically lost his sister after she was killed at the tender age of seven.

The 40 year old music producer, whose real name is Shahid Khan, has kept his past and the devastating loss of his sister under wraps on the ITV reality show so far.

He had an incredibly close bond with his younger sibling Samaira, and the youngster's sudden death was life-changing for the entire family.

Naughty Boy's older sister Saira has now opened up about what happened and the impact their little sister's loss had on them so young.

Samaira was hit by a school bus in Watford in 1989 and subsequently died from her injuries.

Naughty Boy was just eight years old at the time.

It comes as Naughty Boy has been open about missing his mum Zahida, 67, and the struggle of worrying about her while he's away in the Welsh Gwrych Castle.

The star's mum has dementia and Naughty Boy lives with and has looked after her ever since she received the diagnosis.

Zahida's condition means the family are constantly reminded of what happened because she still thinks Samaira is alive.

"Our sister was only seven," Saira, 43, told The Mirror. "They [she and Naughty Boy] were really close and always played together. They were best buds.

"I think he blocked it out as a child. He wouldn’t talk about it. He would go quiet when I talked about her as he remembers their times together," the I'm A Celeb star's sister continued.

Saira went on to say that the family talk about their late sibling a lot more in recent years, especially when their mum asks them to "buy things" for Samaira from the shops.

Naughty Boy's sister Saira also shared her hopes for him to use the show as "therapy".

"I hope he’ll be to find moments where he is able to confide in his campmates and use it as therapy," she added.

It comes as the ITV series was unfortunately forced to cancel this weekend due to the dangers presented by Storm Arwen.

While Friday night's show was pre-recorded, Saturday and Sunday were ditched altogether. ITV have confirmed that the show will return to screens on Tuesday night.

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will continued to air at 9pm on ITV when it returns.
