Ivanka Trump Apparently Planned This Against Her Dad’s Wishes

Donald Trump’s final days in the White House are as unpredictable as ever, as House Democrats plan to vote on his impeachment on Jan. 13, 2021. This move, according to NBC, would make Trump the first American president to be impeached twice.

Momentum for such a decision picked up after the U.S. Capitol was stormed by angry Trump supporters on Jan. 6, 2021, leaving five dead, according to CNN. The riot came immediately after Trump addressed his followers and urged them to march to the Capitol and reject the election results, according to The Wall Street Journal. As such, Trump’s impeachment proceedings hinge directly on his “incitement of insurrection” after the violent altercation.

Trump’s final days as president are different in many other ways too, especially in traditional ways of welcoming his successor, Joe Biden. Before he was banned from Twitter, Trump tweeted: “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” per Politico. It’s certainly unusual for Trump to decline to attend the event but, then again, there hasn’t been much that was usual about Trump’s time in office.

However, other members of Trump’s clan had different opinions about Biden’s inauguration. In fact, his daughter, Ivanka Trump, made plans for Biden’s inauguration that went totally against Trump’s wishes. Here’s what went down.

Donald Trump is reportedly furious with Ivanka

In a shocking departure from the rest of the Trump clan, Ivanka Trump had plans to attend Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2021, according to Voz Wire.

Ivanka’s intentions were to save her burgeoning political career. A source told the Daily Mail that Ivanka was hoping her presence at the event would show her “being a good sport” and that it would help her gain “future supporters.” A source also told the outlet: “Ivanka is worried that her promising political career is in jeopardy and she’s doing whatever she can to save her reputation.”

Despite these aspirations, Donald Trump was furious when he heard her intentions. According to the Daily Mail, Trump said that the family had to stick together and present a united front. “He said it’s an insult that she would even want to engage with the crooks that are trying to bring him down,” the source reported. Not only that, but Trump also allegedly told Ivanka that “her presence at the inauguration will cost her thousands of supporters and would be the worst decision she could ever make.”

Ivanka, however, doesn’t intend on joining her father for the Jan. 20, 2021 event that he has planned.

Ivanka is opting out of Trump's rally to announce his 2024 presidential run

Donald Trump has discussed what he plans on doing on Jan. 20, 2021 instead of attending Joe Biden’s inauguration. According to The Guardian, before the Christmas holidays, Trump said that he would host an event on the same day to announce his presidential run in 2024.

However, sources tell the Daily Mail that Ivanka Trump has no intention of joining her father at this rally and instead wants to attend Biden’s inauguration in an attempt to save her own political career. “She said she has to protect her own political aspirations and isn’t about to muck it all up by attending her dad’s 2024 campaign kick-off which is set for the same day. She’s leaving that for her dad and Don Jr,” an insider told the outlet.

The source also mentioned that tension in the White House is high and that Ivanka and her brother, Don Trump Jr. are at odds. “Don Jr. and Ivanka talk over each other, which is nothing new, just escalated to the nth degree,” an insider told the Daily Mail. Ivanka, though, was hoping to be in attendance as Biden is sworn in “to be [her father’s] voice.” She also felt that “they owe it to the people.”

It seems like Ivanka is at odds with many people as she strategizes her next move and the conflict isn’t just limited to her immediate family. In fact, Ivanka and her sister-in-law, Karlie Kloss, had a tough moment on social media.

Why Karlie Kloss hurt Ivanka's feelings

Donald Trump isn’t the only one upset with Ivanka Trump. In the midst of the riot in the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Karlie Kloss, who is married to Jared Kushner’s younger brother, Joshua Kushner, took to Twitter to condemn the actions. “Accepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic. Refusing to do so and inciting violence is anti-American,” Kloss tweeted.

Someone responded and said to “tell your sister in law and brother law,” (via People) to which Kloss responded, “I’ve tried.”

The response was reportedly very hurtful to Ivanka, as a source told Page Six, because the two women are reportedly very close. “[T]hey really enjoy each other’s company, so Ivanka is hurt,” an insider said to the outlet. The source also claimed that Ivanka was “surprised because they’re so close and talk on a regular basis, but never really about politics.”

It’s no doubt a complicated time for Ivanka, as she decides how to shape her own career. In addition to public spats with the in-laws, there’s also the challenge of juggling her own family and living up to the expectations set by her father. That will probably be tough because, if there’s one thing we know for sure, the Trump family loves to do things together.
