The £52million France international, 28, denies eight rapes against five different women – one aged 17 – one attempted rape and one sexual assault. Yesterday Chester Crown Court heard from a woman, aged 20 at the time of her alleged attack in October 2020, claiming Mendy raped her in a locked bedroom, telling her: “You can’t get out anyway.”
The jury heard a police interview with the woman, who cannot be named, in which she said she was invited with others to
Mendy’s mansion in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire, after meeting him in a club.
She said Mendy took her mobile upstairs and she followed, asking for her phone as he went through her pictures.
“I was saying, ‘I do not want to have sex with you. I just want to go now’.
He said ‘the door is locked anyway’.”
The jury heard she was raped three times by Mendy in the next 20 minutes or so, as she told him she did not want sex.
The woman claimed Mendy said: “It’s fine, I have had sex with 10,000 women.”
Cross-examined, the woman denied she had given Mendy her Snapchat password but admitted there were explicit images of her on the phone.
The trial continues.
