Homes Under the Hammer: Martin, Dion and Martel host show

Jacqui Joseph’s first episode in her new role as presenter on BBC’s ever popular property show Homes Under The Hammer, but she ran into some difficulties from the get go. When she got to her location to do a recce of the property, she found the lift wasn’t working.

Jacqui travelled to Portsmouth to visit the second floor apartment that went to auction at £110k – £120k, but was hit with a bit of disappointment before she even got through the door.

As she noted there weren’t too many stairs to trek up, she was over the moon when she entered the building to see a lift.

“Oh a lift!” she exclaimed.

But her excitement soon disappeared as she found it taped off.

She sighed as she embarked on the short journey upstairs: “It’s not working… Up we go!”

Despite the broken elevator, Jacqui was impressed with the common parts of the dwelling.

But the thing she couldn’t get her head around was the textured ceiling.

Trying to ignore it, she kept referring back to the the decorative element.

“Not to my taste,” she confessed, turning her nose up.

Having appeared on shows such as ITV’s Lorraine and This Morning as well as becoming a well known presenter on shopping channels, BBC announced Jacqui would be joining the presenting team alongside fellow newbie Tommy Walsh, in November last year.

The pair join regular hosts Martin Roberts, Dion Dublin and Martell Maxwell.
