James wrote on Twitter in view of his 275,300 followers: “No one should have to go through what my family are watching my dad go through.
“I pray to God that you come soon and make him one of your angels.
“He has his bags packed and is ready to go and see his mum and dad again.
“My dad is my hero @BrainTumourOrg needs your support.”
Underneath fans shared their unwavering support for the star, as he goes through this difficult time.
One wrote: “My dad died of cancer 6 years ago this week. I felt guilty of thinking the exact same way as you are atm. I couldn’t help thinking that if he had been an animal the docs would have out him to sleep. Watching him every day in the state he was in was worse than the ending. God bless.”(sic)
A second replied: “So sorry for what you are going through! I went through this with my dad, in his last days I told him it was OK to stop fighting to let go and be with my mum, hardest thing I’ve ever done and I feel guilty telling him to stop fighting but I know it was the right thing to do.”
A third commented: “It’s horrific seeing someone you love suffering. You don’t want them to go but they’re suffering. You want them as they were. We have just been through it. Think about telling your Dad it’s OK to go they need to know sometimes. It’s so hard. Thinking of you at this awful time.”
While a fourth replied: “Aw, James. Went through this with our Mum & Dad. It was so devastating, and the guilt I felt for just wanting their suffering to end still creeps up on me. Nothing anyone can say will make you feel better just now, but my thoughts are with you and your family. Stay strong.”
The Dancing On Ice winner tweeted last week that his beloved dad is “not doing so well” as he remains in hospital for treatment, and the star is currently unable to visit due to the ongoing national lockdown in the UK amid the coronavirus pandemic.
James typed: “Missing my dad so much.
“He’s not doing so well in hospital, but hopefully we will get him home soon so we can all see him and be together.

James had appeared via video link last Monday alongside dancer wife Ola Jordan on Loose Women with their daughter Ella.
James became visibly emotional when questioned about his dad by the panel, and explained the current situation surrounding his father’s health is “horrendous”.
Jane Moore asked: “James, you’ve had a tough time with your dad Allan, haven’t you?”
The dancer replied: “Yeah, horrendous. Last year, my dad got diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.”
“He’s currently back in hospital really, really not very well.”
An image of Allan holding baby Ella then appeared on screen, as James got choked up.
He continued: “Yeah, it’s really upsetting…” before beginning to become emotional.
Ola stepped in for James and said: “It’s very difficult because obviously we can’t go and see him.”
