Jennifer Aniston, 52, recently took to Instagram to pen a supportive message to Paul Rudd, 52, after he was named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. The pair are former co-stars on the hit series Friends and were even rumoured to have briefly dated in the 1990s.

Posting in view of her 38.5million followers yesterday, Jennifer shared her congratulations on Paul’s new accolade.

She reposted People’s video of Paul when they announced the news.

Alongside this, she wrote: “This makes me so happy.

“We’ve ALWAYS known this, but Paul Rudd is officially @people’s Sexiest Man Alive Alive!”

Then in a second post on her Instagram stories, Jennifer shared a snap of them cuddling.

The image was from the film Wanderlust when they played a married couple.

She continued: “You don’t age, which is weird.

“But we still love you.”

Jennifer and Paul first met on the set of 1998 film The Object of My Affection.

At the time, it was rumoured the pair were dating but split soon after.

Jennifer went on to marry Brad Pitt while Paul later met his wife Julie Yaeger.

However, Paul and Jennifer remained good friends, and have starred in several films together.

Back in 2012, they even admitted it wasn’t strange kissing in their film Wanderlust.

Speaking with GQ, they were quizzed if it was “weird” to lock lips as they are such good friends.

Jennifer quipped: “Nah. I’ve kissed him for years.”

While Paul added: “We’ve made out for decades.”

Paul was named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive earlier this week.

Speaking about the honour to the publication, he said: “I’m going to lean into it hard.

“I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’

“I’m getting business cards made. But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to.

“And that’s why they’re my friends.”
