Jodie Kidd to wed for third time as she gets engaged to ex-Royal Marine boyfriend

Jodie Kidd is set to be married for a third time after becoming engaged to her ex-Royal Marine boyfriend Joseph Bates over the weekend.

The 43-year-old was proposed to in Paris – where the couple are currently enjoying spending some quality time together – and took to Instagram to share the delightful news.

Jodie posted a photo of herself tenderly kissing her new fiancé as they are both stood in front of the famous Arc De Triomphe, with the former model’s engagment ring in full sparkling view.

“I said ‘YES,’” she captioned before being showered with congratulations by friends in the comments section.

“Ooohhhhhh how gorgeous for you. Congratulations. He is a lucky man,” wrote actress Anna Friel.

“Oh, this is brilliant!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!! So happy for you both!!!!” added an excited Kimberley Wyatt.

Jodie has been in a relationship with her partner Joseph since 2017, two years after splitting from her second husband of four months, David Blakeley, who cited her “unreasonable behaviour” as grounds for their divorce.

In 2005, Jodie wedded her first husband Aidan Butler, before breaking up 18 months later.

Mother to ten-year-old son Indio, whom she shares with ex partner Andrea Vianni, she is now focused on family life alongside managing her pub The Half Moon in Kidford, West Sussex where she is settled.

It was during lockdown the business owner became even more settled with boyfriend Joseph after the pair grew closer together as a couple.

Jodie joined Joseph – who is a special forces solider – on a disaster relief mission to Dominica following the devastation left by Hurricane Ima four years ago and the pair’s connection blossomed from that point forward.

Their relationship hit a hurdle however last year, when Jodie realised her son Indio had picked up overly conscious eating habits from Joseph, who has previously been open about his strict eating regimes in the past.

“It really scared me. The only way he could have learned about calories and 'cheat days' – when you allow yourself a treat, like pizza – is through me,” the ex marine officer told the Daily Mail.

“Joseph had started to comment on what I was eating – giving me a look if I helped myself to another potato, or didn't go to the gym,” Jodie added.

“But when Indio started talking about ''cheat days'', I felt I had to protect him. Joseph needed help.”
