Joel Dommett looks almost unrecognisable in The Masked Singer UK makeover

Joel Dommett has surprised his fans by sharing his "time machine special" makeover for The Masked Singer UK.

The comedian, 37, uploaded a photo to Instagram of him dressed up as a caveman for the Saturday night show, captioning the post: "Tonight’s Masked Singer is a weird one 7pm @itv".

In the photo, he is wearing a long brown wig, as well as a fur cloak, shorts, and shoes, showing off his toned torso.

Joel almost looked unrecognisable compared to his usual, smooth, suited-and-booted self, and fans were quick to point that out.

One person wrote: "JOEL!!! NOT THE CAVEMAN!", while a second said: "I had to look twice as I thought this was a wax work display of a caveman at the British Museum. Brilliant."

This year's series of The Masked Singer UK started off on January 1, with only two episodes airing so far.

In that time, we have lost Ghost, who was former footballer and presenter Chris Kamara, and Piece of Cake, who was Scottish singer Lulu.

Tonight's episode will see Cat & Mouse, Jellyfish, Otter, Knitting, and Phoenix go head to head to make it through to the next round.

There's plenty of speculation about the identities of the masked singers, with a variety of stars from all sides of stardom suggested.

One of the main suggestions for Knitting is Claire Richards from Steps, with the singer referencing two Steps songs in her first appearance, as well as her outfit possibly linking back to her appearance on the celebrity edition of the Great British Spelling Bee.

Fans think that Jellyfish could be star singer Anastacia, with the masked star mentioning they are had won a competition in the past – linked to the fact the singer has recently won the Australian version of the show.

Cat & Mouse is the show's first double act, which some fans and judges thinking it could be Emma Bunton and Jade Jones underneath the two masks.
