Jonnie Irwin hints at return to work sharing ‘behind the scenes’ clip
Former A Place in the Sun presenter Jonnie Irwin, who hosted the show for nearly two decades from when it first started in 2004, has excitingly teased a return to presenting.
The Channel 4 favourite’s world completely changed in 2020 when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, with the star later sharing the devastating news publicly in late 2022.
Following the announcement, Jonnie’s contract ended with A Place in the Sun and since then he has been spending time in palliative care.
Jonnie has also devoted much of his remaining time to his wife Jessica and their three children: Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
The star, who is also known for presenting BBC property show Escape to the Country, has been busy keeping his 183,000 Instagram followers updated with his cancer journey and continuing to share helpful DIY and home renovation tips.

In a brand new update on his Instagram story yesterday, Jonnie also hinted at a presenting comeback for a brand new project.
The star reposted a clip from a company called Mayfair Worktops, who specialise in high quality Granite worktops and Quartz worktops.
“Behind the scenes with @jonnieirwintv,” the caption read as the camera panned across the room to show Jonnie standing in the kitchen and the rest of the camera set-up.
Jonnie, who wore a waistcoat and flat cap, stood beside two guests as they faced the production team for filming.

Jonnie bravely spoke out about receiving palliative care on Monday’s episode of BBC talk show, Morning Live.
Explaining he had begun the care immediately after being diagnosed, he told Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones: “It’s a delight, actually.
“My perception of the hospice was very much a boiling hot room full of people that looked frail and towards the end of their days. This is nothing of the sort.
“It’s spacious, energised, comfortable. I mean, it’s even got a jacuzzi bath, en-suite rooms, and the staff are just amazing.
“So I’ve had a really, really good experience at my hospice.”
