Judi Love has criticised Piers Morgan for his negative comments about Team GB in her latest column for OK!.

The Loose Women star said it's "annoying" when people criticise others for things they wouldn't be able to do themselves. Her comments come after Piers Morgan claimed Olympians shouldn't celebrate anything other than gold. Elsewhere, Judi discusses her family getaway, Meghan Markle's 40th birthday and her latest opinions on Love Island.

Holiday time

This weekend, my kids and I went on a staycation to a cabin in the Cotswolds. It was so lovely. We had thought about going abroad, but it seemed like you had to go through a lot of rigmarole at this last minute, so we settled on somewhere in the UK. Even so, it was hard to find anywhere as so much was booked up. But we were lucky we found some lovely cabins. We chilled out, went horse riding, swimming and spent time in the spa and playing crazy golf as well as some nice meals out.

We had a no electronics rule, too – other than a camera to snap the memories – which felt really refreshing. It was a much needed break and I wanted to show the kids that when mummy is working, it’s to provide those lovely times together.

Piers' comments

Piers Morgan made comments saying Olympians shouldn’t celebrate anything but gold last week. It’s so annoying when people like Piers comment on things they could never do themselves. I want to see him jump over a pole or do gymnastics! Bronze, Silver or Gold are all huge accomplishments.

Not everyone can win gold and it’s fantastic for athletes to even get to the Olympics, let alone win a medal. It’s unfair to put that pressure on people to constantly achieve, we all have goals that we want to accomplish but we shouldn’t be made to feel that our attempts and efforts aren’t good enough. As long as we learn from each knock back this will allow us to grow and, hopefully, at some stage achieve our best. Stop it Piers!

Return to the castle

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is returning to Wales this year instead of going back to Australia. I can understand the decision as there is so much uncertainty around travel restrictions and they want to make sure the programme gets made.

I think people forget that the show isn’t just about the celebrities, it also provides so many jobs for people behind the scenes. Obviously, it’s great fun to watch, too – I always watch it with my kids – who doesn’t want to see a celeb eat goats’ balls?! I’m not sure I’d ever sign up though…

Kid in a candy shop

This year’s Love Island has been really messy – the drama is in full force! Everybody seems to have split from the person they liked and then gone back to them. I don’t think anyone knows what they are doing.

Toby is like a kid in a candy shop, he just doesn’t know what he wants. He doesn’t seem to have a type looks wise as all the girls he’s gone for are completely different. I suppose he is showing what Love Island is all about though! So as much as we’re shocked, he’s playing the game. And it makes for great TV, too!

Loving your forties

Last week, Meghan Markle celebrated her 40th birthday. I hit my forties in 2020 and I can tell Meghan and any other ladies out there entering this decade that it is a real chance to accept yourself. I felt a real shift and allowed myself to be more content with who I am, what I know and trusting in myself much more.

They say that your forties are the new twenties, and I really think they are. I know exactly what I want in life and I don’t worry about anyone else’s opinion.
