Kate Lawler rushes newborn daughter to hospital for third time

Kate Lawler was forced to take her baby daughter Noa back to hospital last night for the third time after experiencing a ‘rough 24 hours’.

The former Big Brother star welcomed her first child three weeks ago but it’s been a worrying time, with Noa suffering breathing issues after she was born 11 days early.

Sharing an update on Thursday, Kate revealed they rushed to A&E again on Wednesday evening and had to stay overnight.

‘I’m exhausted and I just want to go home. Poor Noa has had a rough 24 hours but is on the mend and in 48 hours we’ll know for sure everything is okay,’ Kate told her followers alongside a selfie in her Instagram stories.

Revealing what ailment Noa had, the DJ continued: ‘Her temperature went above 38. She showed signs of infection so they took blood and urine tests and she had to have a lumbar puncture.

‘We had to stay overnight and this morning the doctors told me it’s likely a viral infection. She responded well to antibiotics. Her temperature, heart rate and oxygen were all back to normal by today.

‘They switched the type of antibiotics and to once a day (still via her cannula) and we were told we can go home. We’ll have final test results back in 48 hours. For now we just need to go back tomorrow and the next day so she can have the antibiotics administered like below.’

Kate, 40, went on to praise the paediatric team, doctors and nurses who ‘took great care of Noa’, adding that she ‘can’t thank them enough’.

She then admitted: ‘I’d love to be enjoying this newborn “bubble” as everyone calls it but not sure how much more I can take. Noa has been unlucky these first 3 weeks of her life but hopefully this is the last of our trips to A&E.’

Fortunately, Kate and Noa were allowed to go home and the former reality star shared a photo of the tot wrapped up in her car seat.

Kate kept her fans updated throughout her pregnancy and her fiancé Martin confirmed in February that their first child had arrived, although there was a ‘complication’ during the birth.

Since welcoming Noa, Kate has shared all the difficulties she has experienced, and admitted that her first week at home with her daughter was the ‘most overwhelming experience of my life’.
