In November 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sadly announced that their beloved pet dog, Lupo, had passed away. While Cocker Spaniel Lupo is undoubtedly irreplaceable, The Telegraph has reported that Duchess Kate and Prince William have acquired a new puppy, thanks to James Middleton.
The publication explained, “The new Cocker Spaniel, whose name has not yet been revealed, was given to the family by the duchess’s brother, James Middleton, before Lupo died.” And that’s not all. Kate’s brother wanted to make sure that the new Cambridge puppy was very much a part of the family, so he bestowed Kate and William with Lupo’s niece.
Meanwhile, a source told the Mail on Sunday, “The new puppy is adorable and the whole family are besotted.” The source continued, “They were devastated when Lupo passed away, as any dog owner will understand, but got the new puppy before he died. It was hoped that a younger dog would give Lupo some company and give him a little more life and energy.”
In November, Kate and William shared a sweet photo of Lupo on Instagram and paid tribute to their adored pet. In a personal message, the Cambridges wrote, “Very sadly last weekend our dear dog, Lupo, passed away. He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much. – W & C.”
