Kate Middleton Celebrated Her 39th Birthday with a Tea Party at Home with Her Kids

The Duchess of Cambridge rang in her 39th birthday with the ultimate intimate affair: a tea party hosted by her three children at home.

According to People, due to strict lockdowns in place across the United Kingdom amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Kate celebrated her birthday safely with her family at their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk. The Cambridge children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, hosted the adorable celebration, for which they made tea and snacked on dainty bites. Also per People, Prince William is the designated tea brewer around Anmer Hall and was most likely the one who prepared a special cup for his wife last Saturday.

“At the end of the day, she’s in training to be a future Queen, but honestly you would never know it,” a source close to the duchess told the outlet. “If you go round to her house, you get a cup of tea, and it’s often William who makes it! It’s a lovely, welcoming house, not a fancy, stuffy palace in any way.”

Kensington Palace shared an image of the duchess from her royal train tour with William late last year; she’s wearing a sleek navy wool coat, gloves, and a printed protective face mask in the snap.

“Thank you for your kind wishes on The Duchess’ birthday,” read the post’s caption. “Birthdays have been very different in recent months, and our thoughts continue to be with all those working on the front line at this hugely challenging time.”
