Katherine Ryan’s husband reveals ‘inspirational’ garden transformation admitting it took ‘patience’

Katherine Ryan’s partner Bobby Kootstra has revealed their amazing garden transformation as he shared stunning before and after pictures of the project on Instagram.

Posting a sweet video montage of the transformation, Bobby showed a sneak peek of their outdoor space as he explained how the makeover happened via a voiceover. He started by revealing what the garden looked like as they were “coming out of winter” and the work which led up to the final result.

He also showed off some of the tools used, as well as fertiliser and soil before describing the journey as “a waiting game”, requiring patience for the grass to grow.

He finished off by panning around the stunning completed garden as he humorously said: “My existential sadness is freed from the chains of having a poor garden”.

Fans enjoyed watching the video and even labelled it as “inspirational”. One fan wrote: “I never thought I’d care about grass but my god this is the success story of the year. I need a Netflix doc asap”, while another said: “This is the most inspirational lawn reel ever”.

In reply to Bobby’s voiceover, one fan wrote: “This is heaven!! So glad your existential sadness is over xx”, while another said: “Pretty amazing. Could you come and sort my lawn?”.

The update into the duo’s lives followed after they joined the cast of CelebrityGoggleboxto bring viewers the best commentary and opinions on the week's television from the comfort of their homes.

Canadian comedian Katherine, 39, confirmed the news earlier this month and said they were "thrilled to be taking part" and are "excited to welcome viewers" into their abode.

The TV star is best known for her NetflixshowThe Duchess along with presenting duties, podcasting and numerous comedy shows, including several appearances on BBC's Live at the Apollo.

The comedian and her beau Bobby have been together since 2018, but their relationship goes back even further than that. They first got together when they were both teenagers living in Canada, but eventually went their separate ways.

The year they rekindled their romance, Katherine returned to her hometown in Canada to film an episode of BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? and was there reunited with her old flame, Bobby, who works in broadcasting. They have been together ever since and, in 2019, entered a civil partnership together.

While talking about their decision not to have a traditional marriage on the Jonathan Ross show, she said: "It's perfect having a civil partner. We didn't have a wedding, I didn't need to put on a white dress and pretend to be a virgin, that ship has sailed."
