Kerry Katona slams Love Island: ‘It’s like a kids’ show nowadays’

Kerry Katona has revealed she's not a fan of Love Island, branding it as a "kids' show".

Writing in her weekly column, the 42-year-old admitted she hasn't been watching this year, and said that the popular ITV2 series no longer feels "natural". However, Kerry would be keen to tune into a middle-aged version – and would even want to host it. Sign up – for free! – to see what Kerry has to say.

Let me host Love Island

There is talk about a middle-aged Love Island, called The Romance Retreat, coming to ITV – and I think it’s such a good idea! Kelly Brook has begged ITV to let her host it, but I want to put myself forward.

I think I’d do an amazing job hosting it. I also have life experience and kids – part of the show’s format is that it’s the grown-up children who put their single parents forwards!

I’d love to watch people my age fall in love. Love Island is like a kids’ show now, it doesn’t feel natural.

Traditional is my taste

Kylie Jenner has finally revealed she’s called her son Aire, and I have to say that it’s not my cup of tea. Each to their own and I’m sure Kylie doesn’t care about my opinion, but I’m quite an old-fashioned person, so I like old-fashioned names.

All of mine are old fashioned – maybe apart from DJ’s – but I love them all! I actually liked what Kylie’s mum Kris Jenner did by giving each of her children the initial K.

As a Katona, I should have done that!

My skin is absolutely glowing after I visited Dr Nyla Raja last week. I got my Botox done and had a facial while I was there.

I feel amazing and years younger – I look like my Lilly! I rarely wear make-up and I like to take care of my skin, so I love pampering myself every now and then. The team there is brilliant. I was previously thinking about having an eyelid lift, but actually, I’ve decided against it. Apart from a bit of Botox, I’m embracing my face – for now!

New business

Former EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks has announced her new X-rated business – designing vibrators for women.

I think good on her! I’m actually planning on doing very similar, especially after doing my OnlyFans. The more I’ve been working on the site, the more I’ve found it quite embarrassing and shameful to talk about masturbation. It’s a bit cringey.

But we’re living in a day and age where we shouldn’t be ashamed or embarrassed about having an orgasm. It puts you in a better mood!

No bad blood

According to the papers, Katie Price apparently took a swipe at me in an interview where she discussed OnlyFans. She was asked about a rivalry between our pages and Katie replied, “No, it doesn’t matter what you look like, OnlyFans is a platform anyone can go on!”

Sorry but Katie has said nothing bad about me and there’s no swipe at all. There’s nothing wrong with it. It was actually a nice response – she also said I had been trying to get her on OnlyFans for ages, which is true, and that she was pleased I did! I would never say anything bad about Kate and she would never bad-mouth me.
