The best version of me
Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had a lovely Christmas and are feeling refreshed. I was really poorly in the run-up to Christmas, but managed to power through panto and was thankfully on the mend for the big day. I’ve decided I won’t do panto this year. I had a ball and it’s always good fun, but I want a break so I can spend more time at home with the kids.
After enjoying myself over the festive period, I’m now on a mission to get fit and healthy. But more importantly, I want to feel good mentally. I’m a huge fan of meditation and visualisation, so I plan to get back into that. I've been so distracted with work, so now I want to focus on myself. I want to be the best version of myself this year.
A full schedule
2022 was one of the best yet for my career – and I’m so grateful my schedule is already full for this year. I have so many exciting work projects coming up. I can't announce them just yet, but I’ll let you know as soon as I can. Put it this way, you’ll be seeing me on your screens a lot more!
As well as doing the Lunch & Laughs Live tour in March and April, which is a panel with a group of fabulous women, I’m also heading out on my own tour, No Regrets. I don’t have the exact dates just yet, but I’ll be chatting to an audience all about my life – the ups and the downs. It’ll be great fun and I hope to see you there!
A couple of my career highlights last year were writing my third autobiography, Whole Again, which I wasn’t sure I’d even finish at one point, and becoming co-host on the BBC podcast, Wheel of Misfortune. There are lots of exciting things coming up for the podcast this year and I can’t wait to continue with it.
Taking time out
Before the madness begins and I go back into work mode, I’m taking the whole of January off. I’m having corrective surgery this month with Pall Mall Cosmetics after undergoing a tummy tuck elsewhere last year and I’m also having an eyelid lift. So I need to allow myself time to recover. I also really need some time out after such a busy period. I want to be at home and spend some quality time with Ryan and the kids. Being off work for a month will allow me to get back into my routine and will really boost my mental well-being.
We’re going to Turkey in February, which I’m looking forward to. I took my sister in October to get a new set of teeth, so we’re going back to get them finished off. I’m bringing all the kids with me, so they’re really excited.
It’s a big school year for Heidi as she’ll be doing her GCSEs. She recently did her mock exams and got mostly As, which I’m so happy about. I’m proud of her. I'm proud of all my kids. It can be so hard at their age, not knowing what to do in life. All I want for them is to be happy and healthy and to be the best versions of themselves.
