Kirstie Alley once admitted she was “madly in love” with John Travolta, 68, but said nothing happened between them due to the pair being married respectively. The friends starred alongside each other in the 1989 movie Look Who’s Talking together.
During this time, she was married to Baywatch actor Parker Stevenson, while he was with his wife Lisa Preston.
Despite being tied down, Kirstie didn’t hold back when she confessed her love for John in an interview.
Speaking to Dan Wootton on his podcast, the actress said not embarking on a sexual relationship with her co-star was “one of the hardest things I’ve ever done”.
She echoed: “The hardest decision I’ve ever made, because I was madly in love with him – we were fun and funny together.
“It wasn’t a sexual relationship because I’m not going to cheat on my husband. But, you know, I think there are things that are way worse than sexual relationships, than cheating on someone that way.
“I consider what I did even worse because I actually let myself fall in love with him and stay in love with him for a long time.”
Kirstie seemingly didn’t hide her love for John well enough as she admitted his wife once confronted her about it.
The Cheers actor explained: “Kelly came up to me, and they were married then, and she said, ‘Erm, why are you flirting with my husband?’
“And that was sort of when I had to make a decision and that was pretty much the end of that.”
The actress went on to say she had no regrets in falling in love with John and believed they “would have devoured each other”.
Kirstie’s death was announced by her children in a statement on social media yesterday.
They told fans how she only discovered she had colon cancer recently and died surrounded by her loved ones.

John gushed over his former co-star in a tribute on Twitter following the news.
Alongside pictures of her and the pair smiling together, he wrote: “Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had.
“I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again.”
His co-star’s death is his third lot of bad news in just two years.
The actor was left heartbroken back in 2020 following the loss of his wife Kelly.
Aged 57, she died at their home two years after she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Earlier this year, he also lost his beloved Grease co-star Olivia Newton-John, who also had cancer.
In a touching tribute to his on-screen lover Sandy, he wrote: “My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much.
“We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”
